The AIA has released the 4A Grand Canyon Region All-Region football teams. Making the all-region first team for Coconino is Cole Hagaman for defensive back, Noah Hauer for defensive lineman, Bridger French for both kick returner and running back, Prayer Young-Blackgoat for linebacker, Shaun Chung for offensive line, Jose Miguel Villanueva for kicker and Noble Young-Blackgoat for wide receiver. For Flagstaff, Jadon Wetzel for running back and Ben Wolter at linebacker. Coconino had eight players on the first team, while Flagstaff had two. On the all-region second team for Coconino is Angelo Baca at defensive back, Shaun Chung at defensive lineman, Jack Whiting at defensive lineman, Hunter Navarro at linebacker, Julian Estrada at offensive lineman, Jacob Deherrera at offensive lineman and Cole Hagaman at wide receiver. For Flagstaff, Chase Carlson is at wide receiver, Orion Yoyhoeoma at offensive line and Tyler McGill at defensive utility. Coconino had seven players on second team, while Flagstaff had three. Bridger French of Coconino was named the region’s Offensive Player of the Year. The region Player of the Year was Noah Petrauschke quarterback at Lee Williams, Bradshaw Mountain’s James Giggey was named the region’s Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year was Stevann Brown of Lee Williams. The Second-Annual All-KAFF Sports Team will be released later this month.
