Coconino National Forest Fire Crews Conducting Pile Burns Wednesday

Pile burns are taking place today on the Coconino National Forest. Officials says 1,320 acres of piles will be burned at Willard Springs, five miles north of Munds Park. Also, two acres of piles are burning at Bly Pit, 14 miles northeast of Clints Well. Smoke is expected to be minimal, but noticeable, especially if you’re on Interstate-17 near the Willard Springs burns. There are no anticipated road or trail closures due to either burn project.
