Coconino Falls To Prescott Thursday Night In Boys Basketball

Coconino scored the first basket of the game, but Prescott went on a 11-0 run and never let the Panthers get too close, pulling away in the fourth quarter to win 67-49. The Badgers were led by juniors Uriah Tenette and 6-11 center Zane Gaul, who each scored 21 points in the game. The Panthers were led by Tyson Mortensen who scored 11 points in the contest. Coconino will host the Peoria Panthers Friday night. Prescott improves to 2-0 in the Grand Canyon Region, while Coconino falls to 2-2. In girls action, Coconino didn’t fare well against the Badgers as well. They fell in Prescott 62-54. The defending 4A champion Flagstaff Eagles beat Mohave at home Thursday 85-20. The Eagles will head to Phoenix tomorrow to take on St. Mary’s. The Flagstaff boys basketball team traveled to Mohave and beat the Thunderbirds, 65-39. The Eagles will host St. Mary’s Friday night.
