Coconino Falls To Lee Williams In Overtime Friday, 20-14

Lee Williams scored two touchdowns in about three minutes, and quarterback Noah Petrauschke scores the game winning touchdown as the Volunteers scored 20 unanswered points to beat Coconino Friday, in overtime, 20-14 in Kingman. Panthers senior running back Bridger French had 144 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown rushing and one receiving in the loss. Coconino had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Jose-Miguel Villaneuva’s 52-yard field goal fell short as the game went into overtime tied at 14. Lee Williams picked off a Colton Benington pass in the end zone to end Coconino’s drive in overtime. Then on the third play of their drive, Petrauschke scored to end the game and give the Volunteers the win. Lee Williams has sole possession of first place in the Grand Canyon Region. Coconino is now tied for second at 1-1. The region has a bye week this week, except Coconino. They will host Apache Junction Friday night.
