The Coconino Panthers went out to a 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 25-11 at halftime en route to a 61-49 win over rival Flagstaff Wednesday night at Coconino. The win was the eighth-straight victory over Flagstaff and locks down a 4A play-in playoff slot next week. The Panthers were paced by senior guard Ivory Washington, who scored seven of his 25 points in the first quarter. Washington hit five, three-pointers in the win. Senior Memphis James added 15 points for Coconino. Jake Centner and Connor O’Brien Piubeni each had 16 in the loss for Flagstaff. Coconino finished their regular season with an overall record of 11-7, 8-4 in the Grand Canyon Region. Flagstaff will finish its season Friday night in Kingman against the Lee Williams Volunteers.
