A California man was sentenced to 46 years in prison in connection with a sexual assault of a Chino Valley minor. Chino Valley Police investigated a report of a sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in the town in between May 1st and October 31st of 2017. After committing the crimes, 40-year-old Bacilio Borquez of Visalia, California left the area and went back to California. The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office charged Borquez with sex crimes. He was eventually arrested back on October 30th, 2021 and extradited back to Yavapai County in December of 2021 where they obtained a DNA sample from Borquez. The jury found him guilty back on September 7th. He was sentenced October 30th. The attorney’s office encourages the public to report any suspicions that a child is being abused.
