This month the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is working to promote the message: Buckle up Arizona, it’s the law! To save lives on Arizona roads, the Prescott Police Department is partnering with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to enforce seat belt and child safety laws. Now through June 4th, law enforcement agencies will be stepping up traffic enforcement patrols. The effort will hopefully protect Arizonans in motor vehicle collisions, which is the state’s leading cause of death and injuries. Seat belts reduce the chances of crash-related injury by around 50-percent. Officials say seat belts are the single most effective way to keep drivers and passengers safe.
