Arizona’s Monsoon Season Begins Saturday

The Monsoon Season begins this Saturday in Arizona. Typically the Monsoon Season does not get going until around the Fourth of July. According to the National Weather Service, Arizona is predicted to have a 72-percent chance of a near-or below normal Monsoon season. There’s only a 28-percent chance we will see an above normal Monsoon. Last year, Flagstaff picked up 4.24 inches of rain. Normal for Flagstaff is 7.68 inches of rain during the Monsoon season, which runs from June 15th through September 30th. Starting next Monday, listen for our Mammoth Monsoon Meter forecasts. We will tell you on a scale of 1-to-10 if we expect a good dose of Monsoon storms or not throughout the season.
