State Forestry and Fire Management was planning a week-long prescribed burn west of Flagstaff starting Monday, however due to high chances of rain, it’s been cancelled. Fire crews planned on burning 750-acres, five miles west of Flagstaff, directly south of Interstate-40 and west of the Naval Observatory starting Monday. The project area consisted of a Ponderosa Pine environment with blocks broken out by roads, previously prepped hand lines, dozer lines, and topographical features. State forestry officials say the burn will be rescheduled at a later date.
