A Tornado Touches Down And Does Damage In Star Valley, East Of Payson Sunday

A small tornado touched down and did damage in Star Valley, just east of Payson Sunday. The National Weather Service in Flagstaff sent a survey team to the area and determined an EF-1 tornado did touch down in the area at around 9:39 Sunday morning. Estimated peak winds ranged from 95 to 105 miles per hour. The weather service says the tornado was on the ground for only ten minutes, and cut a path about a mile-and-a-half long, causing damage to about 20 homes in the area. There are no reports of injuries.
