A Seligman Man Shoots Two People At A Seligman Gas Station Saturday Afternoon

A Seligman man is in a Yavapai County jail after he shot two people at the Shell Station in Seligman Saturday afternoon. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the gas station just off Interstate-40 at Exit 122 at around 4 p.m. The caller told operators that two-to-three people had been shot and the shooter was still on the scene, appearing to be reloading his weapon. DPS state troopers were nearby and responded first. They found the shooter, Vincent Ogawa of Seligman, inside his vehicle in the parking lot. He was taken into custody without incident. Deputies then arrived and found two adult male victims. One was shot in the arm and lower abdomen, while the second victim had a gunshot wound to his mid-torso. Both men, who are brothers, were flown to Flagstaff Medical Center and are in stable condition. The victims, and several friends, were on a motorcycle trip when they stopped at the gas station. One of the bikes had a mechanical issue. The two brothers pushed the motorcycle closer to the store, when Ogawa, who was sitting on a bench, approached them. The three had a heated verbal exchange when Ogawa pulled out a gun and opened fire. Investigators say the three didn’t know each other prior to the incident. Evidence at the scene, including video surveillance confirmed Ogawa acted alone. The case remains under investigation.
