A Prescott Police officer was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in connection with a domestic violence incident. Police were called to Yavapai Regional Medical Center on a report of an assault. The victim initially reported that she was assaulted in the downtown area by an unknown suspect. During the investigation, police learned she may have been assaulted by her live-in boyfriend Anthony Taylor, who is a patrol officer for Prescott Police. Yavapai County Sheriff’s investigators were called in and based on interviews and physical evidence, they arrested Taylor. He was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on one count of aggravated assault per domestic violence. The victim was treated for her injuries at the hospital and has been released. Officer Taylor has been placed on administrative leave during further investigation.
