A Paulden Man Faces Life In Prison After Being Found Guilty On Weapons Charges

A Paulden man could face life in prison after he was found guilty recently of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misconduct involving weapons. Back on June 30th, 2022, 56-year-old James Byrn Siegfried followed a truck down Sweet Valley Road in Paulden. When the truck pulled over and stopped on state land, Siegfried confronted two people inside and pointed a loaded handgun at them. The two drove away and called 911. Sigfried hid from law enforcement initially, but alert Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies started to search for the suspect. They arrested Sigfried as he tried to flee the area. A loaded handgun was found in his car, next to a half-empty bottle of whisky. Sigfried faces life in prison, due to his extensive prior felony convictions which include attempted murder, armed robbery, burglary and aggravated assault. He will be sentenced in a Prescott courtroom April 8th at 4 p.m.
