A Georgia Man Faces Life In Prison After He Was Found Guilty Of Sexually Abusing Two Chino Valley Kids, One A Seven-Year-Old

A Georgia man faces life in prison after a Yavapai County jury found him guilty Tuesday of sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 12 and molestation of a child. Yavapai County Sheriff’s investigators say 59-year-old Dennis Evan Carraher was a friend of a family who lived in Chino Valley with two young kids, one of whom was only seven-years-old. Carrraher used his relationship with the family to gain access to, and abuse, both children as both parents were working back in 2020. The younger child reported the abuse and the authorities were notified. County Attorney Dennis McGrane stated, “I have no tolerance for anyone who abuses a child. My office will aggressively prosecute these crimes and will seek lengthy prison sentences for child molesters.” He adds, “I encourage anyone who believes a child is being abused to contact their local law enforcement agency. One phone call might save a child from unspeakable horror.” Sentencing for Carraher is set for April 24th at 1 p.m. in Yavapai County Superior Court in Prescott. He faces consecutive life sentences and a minimum ten years on the molestation conviction.
