2023 Monsoon Pretty Much A “Non-Soon” So Far Across Northern Arizona This Summer

It’s been a very dry Monsoon season so far across Northern Arizona. The National Weather Service says the Flagstaff Airport has received .71 inches of rain, which is just over two inches below normal. The Prescott Airport has received 1.71 inches of rain, which is about a half-inch below normal. Seligman is just under an inch of rain for this Monsoon season, which is about an inch below normal. Some other areas have picked up quite a bit of rain. About a three-and-a-quarter of an inch of rain fell Sunday just west of Wupatki Trials and Timberline north of Flagstaff. The lower rainfall totals doesn’t surprise forecasters. A drier Monsoon season this year was anticipated.
